Oppo Released Android 12 update for Oppo A55 and A16 [ColorOS 12]

Oppo rolling out the official ColorOS 12-based Android 12 stable version for Oppo A55 and A16 users in India & Indonesia. The update brings the latest security patch along with a redesigned user interface, 3D textured icons, adopts Android 12-based widgets, new sidebar tools, new features for AOD, new privacy controls, enhanced game modes, and many other features. Aside from this, the update also fixes some known bugs.

The update is being rolled out in a phased manner and will reach you soon. The update will be randomly pushed out to a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. If no critical bugs are found, the full rollout will be completed in the upcoming days.

Android 12 update for OPPO A55 and Oppo A16

The latest OPPO A55 Android 12 update is based on ColorOS 12 with the firmware version C.26. To get an Android 12 based C.26 update on OPPO A55, users need to be on the A.15/A.18 firmware version. On the other hand, Android 12 based ColorOS 12 for Oppo A16 comes with version C.26 where users need to be on the A.15/A.17 firmware version.

According to the changelog, the update brings July 2022 security patch, brings lots of new features, improves system performance for a better user experience, and fixes several known bugs. The Color OS 12 added new AOD features, improved UI, a new Android 12 update, and many more.

How to Get Update

As mentioned, the latest software update for the Oppo A55 and Oppo A16 is rolling out in a phased method. Hence it will take some days to cover all the devices at once. You will receive a software update notification or you can navigate to Settings >> Software update to check if it is already available.

Open Phone Settings.
Scroll Down and Tap on Software update.
Tap on the Gears icon to request a trial version.
Once confirmed, you will receive the ColorOS 12 stable update via OTA update
