Nokia G50 Receives Stable Android 13 Update

The stable Android 13 update for Nokia X50 starts rolling out to select regions. The new update comes with the November 2022 Android security patch and some new features, including theme support for icons, a new media player that supports the artwork of fully displayed albums, and a new photo picker. With the latest update, all newly-installed apps will need your permission before sending notifications.

The Nokia G50 Android 13 update comes with firmware version V3.200. The update is now rolling out to a limited number of users and will have a broader rollout in a few days after ensuring there are no critical bugs. If no critical bugs are found, the full rollout will be completed in the upcoming days.

How to Install Android 13 Update on Nokia G50

You can manually update Nokia G50 to Android 13 via Local OTA update or via sideload. You need at least 5GB of storage available on your device before installing the update package. Check the below steps to Install the Android 13 Update on Nokia G50.

Method 1: Install via Recovery

  1. Download the latest Nokia G50 Android 13 upgrade zip package from above.
  2. Reboot your device to Recovery mode using the command adb reboot recovery or the below steps.
    • Turn Off your device.
    • Press and hold the ‘Vol Up+Power’ button. Release the power button upon vibration, but keep the volume key pressed.
    • If you will see no command with a dead Android
    • Now press Volume Up + power to enter into recovery mode.
  3. In recovery mode, select Apply update from SD Card.
  4. Choose the zip file and wait.
  5. Done! Reboot your phone after the process is complete.

Method 2: Install via Sideload Method

  1. To use this method, make sure you have ADB and Fastboot installed on your PC. (We have already written a detailed guide to set up ADB and fastboot on Windows and Mac).
  2. Download the OTA update ZIP from the above and save it on your PC.
    • Reboot your device to Recovery mode using the command adb reboot recovery or the below steps.
    • Turn Off your device.
    • Press and hold the ‘Vol Up+Power’ button. Release the power button upon vibration, but keep the volume key pressed.
    • If you will see no command with a dead Android
    • Now press and hold the Power button of your phone. While holding Power, press the Volume Up button and immediately release both keys. You must access the Android recovery menu.
  3. Now, in the recovery menu, select Apply Update from ADB option.
  4. On your computer, enter the following command to initiate the ADB connection.
    adb devices
    Your device’s serial number should appear in the command window, indicating that your device is connected to the computer in sideload mode.
  5. Run the following command to sideload Nokia G50 Android 13 update. 
    adb sideload "filename".zip
  6. This will start the installation process. When the installation is finished, select Reboot system now on your phone to enter the new build.
